Back in town…

June 5, 2009 10:52

It’s Friday. It feels like it’s late afternoon, but it’s just 1 pm! I got up early today, 8 am. Didn’t sleep much last night, about 3,5 hours. My own fault, though. I can sleep longer tomorrow, so it’s alright. Packed my bag and went into the city after my breakfast.

Went to the physiotherapist again. Did my round and then went to visit my job. The one I wanted to see, wasn’t there….typical..hehe. She was on a trip with some of the kids, so I just called her. Always nice to visit my job. I miss them. And I don’t like to think about me leaving them to work at the other house. BAH! It will be great there too, but I will miss my former colleagues! That’s for sure!! We will meet from time to time, since the other house/kindergarten is the same work place. Just in another house.. yeah? You get it? haha. Not easy to explain. Anyway…

Tomorrow me and two colleagues are going to a gig. Yayyy!!! Gonna be great! Others from my job are going to, but with their friends and stuff. Mom and my two aunts are going as well. Can’t wait! I saw them 3 years ago(the artist of course!), as well. And it was a blast! Let’s just hope the weather clears up.

I’m staying at my flat until Tuesday now. I think I might enjoy that…hehe. Mom will get some free time, I get some free time. Good for us both! My sick leave is over in 2 weeks, so I’ll soon leave my mom alone…hehe. I’ve been looking at flats lately… I sooo wanna move! I’m sick of this apartment. Well, not the apartment, but more the fact that it’s under ground. Small windows, not much light. Thank God this flat has white walls!! I have a veranda door, but the sitting area outside NEVER get any sun. It’s always in the shade. I’m glad I have the door, so I can open it during summer. Helps a bit. I wouldn’t stay long if I didn’t have that door. I guess I wont be moving anytime soon. Too expencive and I’m picky.

I’m still smoke free, by the way. Now that I’m back at my flat, I’m struggling a bit more. I’m used to go outside and smoke from time to time. But I will get through this too. I’ve gotten used to NOT smoke at my parents house, where I could smoke inside. So this will be easier, I presume! Since it’s not allowed to smoke inside, I mean.

Well, that’s it for now. Hope you’ve enjoyed another look into my very exciting life (yes, that was irony). Be well. Toodles!

By the way! It’s my grandma and me in the picture!

The Tuesday that felt like a Monday.

June 2, 2009 16:17

It’s been a long weekend, because of the Whitsun. So Monday was a holiday here in Norway, which means all shops closed, most people don’t work etc. etc. So, Monday felt like Sunday. Which made Tuesday feel like ……?? You guessed it! Monday… Aaaanyway. Yesterday crawled by. I was feeling a bit hungover (not too weird…as I ended up drinking a bit on Sunday + singing Singstar) and my energy level was at the bottom. Even so….I went cycling with a friend. It was okay, but I wish I had more energy.

I went to see my orthopedic doc today. She wasn’t happy with my wound/scar, as it’s still swullen and red. So I have to go back in 2,5 weeks time. Oh, all the fucking money for doctors appointments!!! I’ve also managed to overstretch my tendon on the left side on the top of my foot, while doing the exercises the physiotherapist gave me. Oh well!!

I also paid my job a visit. That was very nice. Stayed for a while this time. Took my time with the kids and stuff. Had to go to the physiotherapist as well, but had a very easy work out this time. Because of the overstretched tendon. The orthopediac (can I say that?) said I had to take it easy, so I don’t put too much pressure on the tendon. So much to be careful with….gawd!

I didn’t know what picture to put up, hence the cow… I got nothing else to report, other than it’s PISSING DOWN outside. It went from summer to autumn in one day….how nice. I just hope the forecast for the weekend is better, because we’re going to an outside gig on Saturday!

Well, that’s all. See y’all later. Behave!

Heeello summer!

May 31, 2009 17:50

Oh Looordy, what a weekend! Sooo nice weather! Two great days. I don’t really know what to blog about. I just wanted to tell you about our fab weather…hehe. I’ve been watching Lego, my friends dog, from yesterday ’til now. They just picked him up. I love dogs, so I’m watching him for a week later. And as you can see on the picture, he loved the weather as well. As a matter of fact, he likes to lie in the sun… Most dogs prefer the shade, but not Lego.

I spent alot of the day, lying in the grass with Lego. He loves company, and wines if he doesn’t have anyone with him. And it wasn’t THAT hot on the lawn, compared to our veranda. I’m sunburnt now, though. Went cycling as well.. Now, that was hot in this weather…hehe. Didn’t go for a long ride, though. Will take a longer one tomorrow, with a friend.

I’m gonna have pizza now, and then off to visit a friend. Watch a movie or something. So, I’ll catch you all later! Toodles!

Long weekend…

May 29, 2009 14:06

For the working people, it’s LONG WEEKEND!! Hooraaaah! For me…not so much hooraah. Because for me, this is just another weekend. I’m just happy more people have days off…hehe. Being on a sickleave, you kinda miss the weekend-feeling. At least I have some weekend-feeling left, ’cause I have stuff to do during week days.

Last night I watched my Aunts house, dogs and cats. Of course, her internet decided to hate me and just not be available… So I just watched some TV. Before I went to bed I had to take the dogs outside. My Aunts dogs are such nice dogs, you can just let them outside. They don’t run away….you’d think!! Well, as my dear dear Aunt said: “Kara doesn’t run away often. And if she does, she always comes back”. Right…not often my ass! Kara saw the forest and all she probably thought was: FREEDOOOOOM!! WOOHOO!! And IQ (the pug) decided to tag along…but as lazy as he is, he didn’t go far. I went inside and got some snacks, and 5 minutes later Kara was back.

I brought Kara and Bianca with me to bed (both westies). They settled in pretty fast and fell asleep. Me, on the other hand, didn’t. That was one hell of a long night! Slept some, awake some, slept some, awake some… bah! I was almost happy when my alarm went off, even though I was tired. Learning from last nights run-off, I brought snacks with me outside, when they were gonna do their morning routine. Which kept them pretty much ON my feet. Oh well…

I’ve been into the city (AGAAAIIIN) today. First physiotherapy, then visit job, then orthopedic workshop to measure (kinda) up my feet to make a sole (shoe sole, of course…). Then I drove home again. Tonight we’re gonna have deer steak. It’s sooooo YUMMYYYY!

Oh, and yesterday I went cycling with a friend. We cycled along the river, pass my old house, fed/stroked a couples of horses….my God, what beautiful horses!! Aaanyway, a nice ride. Which we will do again!

Graham Norton tonight, I presuuume. Will watch. Aaaaand…I’m still smoke free! Jabbadabbadooo!

That is all…

48 hours.

May 27, 2009 17:54

The dreadful 48 hours are now over, and I am still smoke free! Yay! Hooraaaah!! Woohoo!!!…etc. I’m a bit proud. I’m allowed, don’t you think?? And today me and a friend + 9 others went walking/running. Not the best thing for my foot, but I survived. I had to stop before the others, ’cause of the foot. But at least I got a good 30-40 minutes work out!

Picked up my bike as well. So I can move around more! Not healthy just using the car all the time! Might cycle tomorrow. Soon dinner now…the posh eat late, ya know! I’m so hungrrryy….

Well, I don’t have anything else to share with you right now. I’ll blog tomorrow or something.

Peace out!!

The big decision

May 25, 2009 19:54

Today, while smoking, I made a huge decision. “I have one cigarette left, it will be my last one”. I dwelled on it by my self, while driving to the city to go to the physiotherapist. I had my last cigarette 12.15 pm, before going to the doc to remove stitches.

I’ve told my parents and two of my friends. Both my friends smoke, so I told them so they don’t ask me if I wanna smoke. I really hope I will be able to quit this time. I have made it without cigs for almost 3 years, last time I really quit. I was stupid enough to start again, and after that I have just had brief breaks…for like 2-4 months maybe.

The reason I decided to quit, is mostly because of economy. I want to be able to have a car, so I need more money. Cigarettes are EXPENCIVE! Of course, I also quit ’cause of the health issues you might get from cigarettes. I wanted to be smoke free before I go to Los Angeles. Hopefully this is it. I thought first I wouldn’t tell many about this, but the more the merrier. More pressure on me to stay away from the fags!

Wish me luck, people!!!

Wow!

May 18, 2009 12:13

Well, what do you know! Norway won Eurovision. Alexander Rybak charmed them all with his smile and song. I never thought he would actually win, but I knew we had a good chance in getting at the top 5.

My mates and I made pizza and ate outside, while listening to the Eurovision 2009 cd. When it started we moved inside and started on the wine/beer. Listening to all the songs wasn’t that fun…but we kinda had to…hehe. We thought the voting would be dull and take forever. But we only had 15 minutes to vote and then the point-giving kind of started. And we got a 12′er from the first country!! And the rest you know…we won half way through the point-giving. AMAZING! We screamed and jumped in excitement. Of course, that had nothing to do with the intake of alcohol…hehe.

The rest of the night we played Eurovision songs and other songs. Me and Åge sang opera (to the Swedish song) outside on the porch. Beautiful! haha! Next year Norway will host Eurovision, and we have all agreed on going. It’s 14 years since we last hosted Eurovision, so it’s about time. I can’t wait!

Other than that, I celebrated our National Day from the chair. Watching the parades on TV. Nice.

That’s it for now. See ya!!

First week of sickleave over.

May 15, 2009 13:49

Yeah, first week over. Just five left! Lets hope they go fast. Anyway… I’ve started walking on my foot. Not painless, at all. I can walk on it without crutches, but I don’t walk correct then. So I better use the crutcher a while longer. I have started with physiotherapy. I went yesterday, and it was OK. It did hurt some, though. But we are taking it easy.

I also visited my job. That was very nice. Too bad alot of my co-workers wasn’t there! Some on a trip with a group of kids and some on meetings or whatever. But I will visit them next week as well. I miss them! I got to see “my kids”, though. They are funny…hehe. Not easy to explain why I use crutches, but I think they got it…at least some of them.

Alexander Rybak went through to the final. I was so nervous!! I sat there and got more and more grumpy, as a new country went through and it wasn’t Norway. So when they finally said Norway, I screamed! I was more nervous about the semi final, than I am for the final on Saturday! I’m going to a friends house on Saturday, to watch Eurovision and drink some wine. Go Norway!!

On Sunday we will celebrate Norway’s National Day. Flags, ice cream, hotdogs, parade and 3 x hoorah for Norway! Now…I will watch aaaall this on TV! Bah to crutches…but yay for TV. Would be darn boring if they didn’t show the whole celebration on tv. Meatballs at my grandma’s house later that day.

So, in advance: Congratulations Norway!!!

Surgery over.

May 8, 2009 15:14

I know it’s a crappy photo, it’s taken with my mobile.

Anyway…surgery was yesterday. It went well. I had a long day at the hospital. Came there around 7.15 am. Around 11.30 am, or something, I was sent up to preporation, to get the IV and all. And so I waited… The anesthetic doctor came in to tell me about the narcosis. So I waited abit more. Around 12.30 or 1 pm (I really have no idea) they rolled me into the surgery room. Nice doctors/nurses. Everyone in there has had what I have, and the anesthetic doc has had the same surgery and could tell me it was very successfull. Good to know!

After they had cleaned my foot like 3 times, it was time for the narcosis. What I didn’t know, was that it would hurt. I guess it’s logic, though…it is kind of a poison for the body. My arm burned inside, but it didn’t take long before I fell asleep. So it didn’t really matter. After 20 minutes or so, the surgery was done. They woke me up, removed a thingy from my throat and I just laughed. I felt drunk…hehe.

I wasn’t out of the hospital until 4.30 pm or something. LONG day! I had to eat and pee before I left, day surgery-rule… Now I’m at my parents house. Moving as little as possible, ‘cuz I hate the crutches. To and fro’ the bathroom and sometimes the kitchen. But mostly I’m just sitting here. On Sunday I will remove the huge bandage and replace it with a small one, just over wound. And on Monday I can start using my foot, but just as much as my pain limit will allow me to. So I guess the crutches will be with me for a while.

My friend, Solo, came by earlier, with cigarettes…hehe. And she invited me over for dinner and cards on Sunday. She’ll pick me up and everything. How nice :) I’ve made fruitsalad as well, which I will enjoy later on…yummy!

Well, that’s all for now. I’m gonna watch some telly now. Toodles!

The day is almost here…

May 6, 2009 19:40

Well…tomorrow is THE day I have been waiting for for months! From 7.30 am I will sit in the waitingroom at the hospital. I got a call the other day, and they told me I would not be the first into the operation room. From midnight I can’t eat. Not that I eat after midnight anyway. But I can’t eat tomorrow at all, until after the surgery is done. At least my dear friend, Solo, has offered to keep me company for a while. Yay!

I can’t say I’m scared of the surgery. I have never had a surgery, so I don’t know what to be scared of anyway… I guess I will think more about it tomorrow. Other than that, I don’t have alot of news. Had a long day at work today. We had a 3 hour long meeting after work, from 5-8 pm. The first hour was OK…got a bit boring sometimes. But mostly I kept thinking about the fucking chair ruining my arse and back. And by looking at my co-workers faces, they were thinking the same…hehe. But seriously, the man who was there talking about FEE (Green Flag stuff)had a lot of good things to say. I just wish we had better chairs.

Later we were seperated into 5 groups and got tasks to do. More like to perform. We had to perform different tasks, like perform a poem, a song, a saying…stuff like that. Very funny to see how people did it. We had a good laugh, to say the least!

Now I’m just relaxing. Gonna pack my lil’ suitcase soon. Dunno how long the hospital will put me on sickleave, but I am guessing I will have to be careful for at least a week. We’ll see. I’m staying at my parents…with my laptop.

Well, that’s it for now. I will update you later on, about my surgery and all.

Peace out!
